Ruca Malen Yauquen Bonarda
$10.99
Tasting Note: Black plum rules the day in this relatively straight-forward bonarda. This purple colored Bonarda has an aromatic nose of black plum, red cherry, stewed prune and blackberry pie sprinkled with cinnamon and clove baking spice. On the palate the wine is medium in body and tannin. Aromas on the nose are stronger than the implied taste profile with black plum in the lead. There are only the very faintest trace notes of mid-to-back palate complexity. At 13.3% alcohol this wine is low in alcohol and one you can enjoy over and over again during the course of an evening to savor the taste sans high alcohol. A great find, especially for the price point.
Bottle Note: n.[JAU-KEN] From the native Mapuche tradition in Argentina, “Yauquen” refers to the ancient ritual of sharing a drink. Today we are invited to keep this tradition alive. Yauquen is great for any occasion – but always best among friends. Deep red in color with bright violet hues. It shows black and red fruit like strawberries and blackberries combined with the typical spicy notes of this varietal. The oak gives some smoke and toast notes. In the palate if it juicy and present a fruity character in harmony with its sweet tannins and oak notes. The finish is long and persistent.
